SC-024 Dandelion - Daisy Gold Yellow Ceramic Underglaze & Glaze, Mayco Stroke & Coat®

SC-024 Dandelion is a bright, vibrant yellow Stroke & Coat® glaze. A single thin coat fires to a soft translucent yellow, while two to three coats develop into an opaque, rich golden yellow. It performs best at Cone 06 oxidation, resulting in a smooth surface with a natural glossy finish. This glaze provides excellent brush control with no running or bleeding, making it ideal for detailed brushwork and layering. SC-024 is AP Certified non-toxic and dinnerware safe, ensuring both functionality and safety for your ceramic pieces.

Stroke & Coat® SC-024 Dandelion is a highly pigmented, viscous gloss glaze that can be used for both detailed design and opaque coverage. It is designed to stay in place without blending when layered, making it perfect for intricate artwork. The colors are intermixable, allowing for custom shades. Artists can thin the glaze with water to achieve a watercolor or wash effect. Since the liquid color closely matches the fired result, it’s easy to visualize the final appearance, drastic changes are unlikely. Brush-able, water soluble, and non-toxic.  

Stroke & Coat® works on wet or leatherhard clay and can be fired to cone 04, maintaining vibrant color with time savings. It’s ideal for classrooms, studios, and fine art use. It can be applied to earthenware or terracotta clay and bisque. One coat results in a translucent finish, while 2-3 coats build up to full opacity. Allow drying between coats. Stroke & Coat® naturally fires to a gloss finish, but clear glazes such as NTCLR Clear One Dipping or S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing Glaze may be added for extra gloss or evenness. It is AP Certified Non-Toxic and dinnerware safe when used properly.
